For the 2017-2018 season, Saga Krantz will be the head coach and choreographer for the Lexettes. She is looking forward to once again working with the team and will have a consistent presence at team practices.
Saga will additionally have a team of coaches working directly with the Lexettes, as well as Haydenettes and Ice Mates, on the various program elements. This collaborative coaching approach will position the Lexettes, and Hayden Synchro, for continued success in this ever changing and demanding sport.
Hayden Synchro thanks Maikki Merilehto for her wonderful coaching that helped the Lexettes achieve two very successful seasons.
The Lexettes are the Hayden Synchronized Skating Team's junior level team. They compete in the second-highest division of competitive figure skating and participate in regional, national, and international competitions. The athletes are 15 to 18 years old and come from a number of different states. The Lexettes also welcome international skaters to try-out for the team. Each season, it is the team's mission to win U.S. National Medals and qualify for the World Junior Championships.
The Lexettes are the 2016 U.S. National Bronze Medalists and for the past four years have won the World Junior Team Selection Competition. They have represented the United States of America as Team USA 1 at the 2013 World Junior Championships in Helsinki, Finland and the 2014 Junior World Challenge Cup in Neuchatel, Switzerland. In 2015, the Lexettes were Team USA 2 at the Junior World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia. In 2016, they were Team USA 2 at the Junior World Challenge Cup in Zagreb, Croatia. They have also represented U.S. Figure Skating internationally as a Team U.S.A and have won medals in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The Lexettes give back to the community through their volunteer work and exhibitions. In the past they have volunteered at Atlas Fireworks' Charity Golf Tournament, where they helped raise money for a local hospital, the Pan Mass Challenge which raises money for the Jimmy Fund and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, local Multiple Sclerosis Foundation functions and A Race for The Cure, helping to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation. The Lexettes have made appearances at the tree lighting at Bryant Park in NYC and at the Holiday Celebration in Downtown Providence, RI.
