Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams Dominate 2014 US National Championships

The Hayden Synchronized Skating Teams had a very successful showing at the 2014 US National Championship held in Colorado Springs, CO from February 27th -- March 1st. All five Hayden teams finished on the podium, winning three gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Hayden teams finished first in the top 3 divisions: Senior, Junior and Novice. Two Esprit de Corps Teams, which also represent the Hayden Recreation Centre Figure Skating Club, finished on the podium, winning silver and a pewter medal. This was by far, the best showing amongst the United States Figure Skating Association Clubs.

The Haydenettes won their 22nd National Championship in the Senior Division by the widest margin ever. With the win, the Haydenettes were named Team USA 1 for the upcoming ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in April in Italy. The Lexettes, won their 1st National Championship in the Junior Division. Later this week, the Lexettes will be competing in the Junior World Challenge Cup in Neuchatel, Switzerland where they will represent the United States as Team USA 1. The Ice Mates won their 20th National Championship in the Novice Division. The Star Mates won the silver medal in the Intermediate Division. The Mini Mates won the bronze medal in the Juvenile Division. This was the fourth year in a row the Mini Mates have won the National Bronze Medal. Esprit de Corps Adult won a pewter medal and Esprit de Corp Masters won a silver medal.
