Lexettes in Second after the Short at JWQThe Lexettes and Haydenettes are competing at the Foot of the Lake Synchronized Skating Competition and World Junior Team Selection Competition Jan 3rd and 4th both being held at the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
The Lexettes are narrowly behind the Chicago Jazz after the short program of the World Junior Team Selection Competition (JWQ), which has a field of twelve teams competing. The top two teams after the Long program will be selected to represent the United States as Team USA 1 and 2 in the Junior World Championships in Switzerland in March.
The competition is really strong with the following top scores after the short program. Chicago Jazz 48.36. Lexettes 48.00, St. Louis Synergy 45.76, Hockettes 44.73, Skyliners 43.01, Team Braemar 41.30, and Starlights 40.13.
The Long program will be held Saturday Jan 4th at 9pm and can be followed on twitter @FOTLsynchro. The scores of the Long and Short program will be added to determine the top two teams.
The Haydenettes also skated in a field of four teams at the Foot of the Lake competition occurring simultaneously at the same venue. After the short program, they have the lead with 65.15 points. The Haydenettes are in the senior division, the highest division of US Figure Skating and the scores can not be compared between divisions. The other scores were Miami of Ohio 57.6, Skyliners 46.18, and Starlights 43.63.
